After winning the one-off Test, England faces India in a white-ball series comprising three T20Is and three ODIs. The series starts with the first T20I in Southampton on July 7. The match starts at 10.30 pm IST (6 pm local time). The Indians would like to bounce back in the white-ball series after going down in the Tets match at Edgbaston. 

India are topping the ICC T20I rankings and needs to win the series to maintain the pole position. England are ranked second and might well take the first spot if they beat India in the series. Thus there is a lot at stake, especially for the Men in Blue in the series.

The BCCI has announced two different Indian squads for the three-match T20I series. They have announced an altogether different ODI squad. Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in the first T20I with players retained from the Ireland series. The likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will not be available for selection for the first T20I.

England will be led by Jos Buttler after Eoin Morgan’s international retirement. The entire England side was very vocal about Morgan’s contribution to the country’s success in white-ball cricket in recent times. Test skipper Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow are not a part of the T20I squad but will return for the ODIs.
