IND vs ENG: Unfortunate For Deepak Hooda To Miss Out - Irfan Pathan On Playing XI For 2nd T20I

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan was disappointed with the exclusion of in-form batter, Deepak Hooda, who had to make way for the return of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant ahead of the second T20I against England.
Hooda has scored 184 runs in his last 3 T20Is against Ireland and England but could not hold on to his place with the senior players returning to the setup.

This move was lamented by the fans and critics alike, with some believing it will dent Hooda’s confidence considering he cannot cement his spot in the playing XI despite putting up excellent performances.
Very unfortunate for Deepak Hooda to miss out in this red hot form.
Ahead of the game, former cricketer, Wasim Jaffer had also said that Kohli will have to deliver in the absence of Hooda and ensure that the latter’s axing is justified.
“Virat Kohli will definitely be back in the playing XI. There is no doubt about it although Deepak Hooda put in a good performance in the first T20I. But Kohli will need to play. A great player like him will need to come. But he will need to match Deepak Hooda’s work including strike rate,” Jaffer had said.

However, Kohli fell for 1(3) and the Indian batting also faltered. Fortunately, Ravindra Jadeja, on his return to the shortest format, played a 31-ball 46 which pushed the total to 170 in the first innings.
Although it was expected to be an under-par total, the bowlers led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar performed brilliantly and handed India a 49-run win to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series.
Final scores in 2nd T20I:
India – 170/8 in 20 overs
Sri Lanka – 121/10 in 17 overs
