India embark on their tour to England in July with an eye on the T20 World Cup and the 50-over World Cup preparations. They start the tour by playing the postponed Test from July 1-5. This is followed by a T20I series between July 7 to 10. The ODI series then follows between July 12 to 17.

As they look to fine-tune their squad for the T20 World Cup, India plays a lot of cricket to its build-up and faces a good side in England in their own backyard. When England toured India in 2021, India beat their opponents across formats. However, England gave a good fight in every format and there was not much to choose from in terms of performances, though the final scoreline differed.

This time around, India is travelling to England and will be playing in seaming and swinging conditions. The BCCI has already announced India’s Test squad for the Edgbaston Test. A few from the Test squad will also be available for selection in the T20I and ODI squads.

This is how India might look like in the T20 series given that it helps them continue their preparations for the mega event. The selectors can choose a squad based on the requirement of the conditions. In this article, we predict India’s 15-member squad for the T20I series against England.

The usual suspects should return in the T20I series against England for a three-match series. Rohit, Kohli and SKY should make up the top three with Pant as the designated keeper. Rahul Dravid said that Dinesh Karthik has a definite role to play as a finisher for India in T20Is and thus should be given more days in the build-up to the T20 World Cup.

There is a scope for Sanju Samson to be given a look in as well in place of Ishan Kishan. The selection can also revolve around the rotational policy of players.
