India and Ireland go head to head in the second T20I in Dubin on June 28, Tuesday. India won the first game which was their fourth overall against the Irish side in T20Is. India are now looking to complete a whitewash as they look forward to the England tour.
Ireland skipper Andrew Balbirnie after the first T20I loss spoke about his team needing to step up their game in the second game. The skipper himself was out for a duck as the Irish side lost three quick wickets inside the powerplay. Harry Tector’s innings then took them to 108/4.

“We were good and we were bad. Against a team like India you have to be good,” Balbirnie said during the post-match presentation.
It was an easy win for India as Deepak Hooda scored an unbeaten 47 to take India home. He was ably supported by Ishan Kishan’s 26 and Hardik Pandya‘s 24. India chased the score down with 16 balls to spare.

Earlier in the game, Ireland lost the toss and were put in to bat first. They lost three quick wickets inside the powerplay and Harry Tector then stepped up for his side. He scored 64 off 33 balls and added a 50-run stand with Lorcan Tucker.
For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Hardik Pandya, Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal picked a wicket each. Yuzvendra Chahal, a legspinner, was selected as the game’s player of the match for his bowling statistics of 1/11 from three overs.

“Great to start a series with a win. For us as a team, it’s very important to start with a win. Quite happy with it. He’s been fantastic for his franchise (Umran Malik). But I felt, also had a chat with him, he’ll be more comfortable with the older ball. Ireland batted fantastically, had to go back to our main bowlers. Maybe next game he’ll have a full chance. Some of the shots he played were mindblowing (Tector)” Hardik said in the post-match presentation.
