Indian Cricket Team announced their arrival in New Zealand with a thumping win. The Men in Blue won the 2nd T20I match and now have taken a 1-0 lead in the Series. Suryakumar Yadav continued his purple patch as the right-handed batter smashed a terrific century and was looking ominous.

New Zealand bowlers were clueless against Suryakumar as the batter was in complete control. The skipper Kane Williamson would rue the fact that they let India post a target of 192 runs; as chasing 192 runs is never easy in modern cricket. The Black Caps need to quickly regroup and find a way to stop Suryakumar Yadav.

Tim Southee on Suryakumar Yadav

Tim Southee was seen in a post-match press conference and was asked about Suryakumar Yadav. “There has been a number of great T20 players from India, so many great cricketers. Surya has been having a great 12 months and it is for him to continue to do what he has been doing (for over a period of time).” said Tim Southee.

“India has produced so many amazing cricketers not only in T20 format but also across the three formats. You have got so many players who have played for a long period of time and have achieved so much over a long period of time.” he added.

Rishabh Pant’s Form a Concern

The dashing wicket-keeper batter was sent to open the batting along with Ishan Kishan. Pant was looking a bit scratchy and was trying a bit too hard to score runs. He scored 6 runs in 13 balls and it was a struggle for him throughout that knock.

Many Cricket Experts believe that Rishabh Pant is suited to open the batting. The batter doesn’t need to tweak his natural game. With only 1 T20I match, Pant has to stick to the crease and make some sort of impact. The Men in Blue would be hoping that the batter rediscovers himself as he has the knack of taking the game away from the opposition pretty quickly.
