Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain after losing the Test series against South Africa. He announced his decision to step down a day after the result. He endured a difficult phase in the last three months. He first stepped down as India’s T20I captain followed by his decision to step down as RCB captain in the IPL. Very surprisingly Kohli was asked to step down as India’s ODI captain, the day the BCCI announced the squad for the series against South Africa on December 8.

Virat Kohli, however, will continue to play as a player. Former cricket experts believe that Kohli will be able to focus completely on his batting now that he is being relieved off captaincy. Kohli who scored centuries for fun between 2016-2019, has scored no international century in the last couple of years. Indian cricket fans are expecting Virat Kohli the batsmen to return to his best form now.
