IND vs SA: After winning the two-match home Test series 1-0 against New Zealand, the Indian Cricket Team are all set to tour South Africa for three Tests and as many ODIs. Having won the recent Test series against New Zealand, India wouldn’t be short of confidence.

The last time when India travelled South Africa for a Test series, they lost it by a margin of 2-1. They would be looking to better that record and win the series this time around. In a significant development, Rohit Sharma has been made the new vice-captain of India’s Test team.

Ajinkya Rahane, who has been enduring a lean run with the bat for the last couple of years, is relieved of his duties as the vice-captain of the Indian Test team. There were doubts over his place in the Indian Test team prior to the announcement of the Test squad. However, the management has, once again, trusted in his ability to get back into form. Besides, Virat Kohli will continue to lead the team in the three-match Test series.

In a massive development, BCCI announced on Thursday that Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian Cricket Team in both ODIs and T20s going forward. Rohit Sharma, who recently became the captain of India’s T20 team, has also been given leadership duties in 50-over cricket. The 34-year old will be leading the Indian Cricket Team in the upcoming ODI series in South Africa.
