South Africa were 70 for three as De Kock aligned forces with Rassie van der Dussen. The duo combined for a top-notch stand of 144 before they were separated by Jasprit Bumrah.

It was De Kock’s sixth ODI century against India and he surpassed legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of most hundreds (5) in the India-South Africa ODI series.

Tendulkar made five of his 49 ODI centuries against the Proteas, De Kock has leveled with his former skipper AB de Villiers as both of them now have six centuries against India in the 50-over format.

De Kock also broke former Indian opener Virender Sehwag’s record of scoring six hundreds against a single opponent in fewer innings.
