Ahead of the IND vs SA 3rd Test in Cape Town on Tuesday, South Africa captain Dean Elgar said how his team flustered India in the previous Test with their intensity.
“We saw that at the Wanderers when we brought the intensity it almost flustered the Indians quite a lot and that can play in our favour and it will almost be silly for us not to replicate that and or bring even more intensity for the next game,” Elgar had said.
To this, Sunil Gavaskar came up with an epic reply on-air. Sunil Gavaskar pointed out that Dean Elgar can say that as his team won the match.
“Hahaha! Yeah, when you win, you can say that,” Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.
Meanwhile, in the IND vs SA 3rd Test, India won the toss and opted to bat first. Openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal returned to the pavilion cheaply, hitting 12 and 15 respectively. Later, Cheteshwar Pujara hit 43 while Virat Kohli scored an impressive 79. In the end, India piled up 223 on the scoreboard before losing all wickets.

South Africa suffered an early blow as their opener and skipper Dean Elgar got out for just 3 runs by Jasprit Bumrah. With Aiden Markram (8) and Keshav Maharaj (6) on strike, South Africa reached 17-1 at the stumps of Day 1 and trails by 206 runs.
