SA vs IND 1st Test was washed out on Day 2 due to rain. The entire day was severely affected and not a single ball could be bowled. On Day 1 of SA vs IND 1st Test, India won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal gave an incredible start to the batting, hitting a 117-run stand for the opening wicket.

Later, Virat Kohli came up to the crease and started off with a good partnership with KL Rahul. However, after reaching a 35-run score, he lost his wicket with an easy catch at first slip on a wide outswinger by Ngidi. Ajinkya Rahane, who came up to the crease next, scored unbeaten 40 runs.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul slammed a marvellous century and remained not out on 122 till the stumps of Day 1. India finished with 272-3 on the scoreboard at the end of Day 1 with KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane on the crease.

Lungi Ngidi picked 3 wickets and is the only bowler to get success in SA vs IND 1st Test. Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder, and Keshav Maharaj also bowled many overs but they did not manage to get a wicket.

The sky will be generally clear and there is only a 20% chance of rain. The humidity will be about 46%.
