Twitter Reacts As Quinton de Kock Scores A Century In The Cape Town ODI vs India

Star South Africa opening batsman Quinton de Kock smashed a sensational century against KL Rahul-led India National Cricket Team in the third and final One Day International of the three-match ODI series at the Newlands, Cape Town on Sunday, January 23.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, who recently announced his retirement from Test cricket, has looked brilliant in the One Day International series against India. In the first match he scored 27 runs and in the second match in Paarl, he smashed quick 78 runs off 66 balls including 7 fours and 3 sixes and he won the Player of the Match award as well.

Meanwhile, in the third match, he finally reached the three-figure mark as he scored a fantastic century off 108 balls. This was his 17th One Day International century and the 6th century against the Indian team.

Overall, he is the 5th fastest player in the history of One Day International cricket in terms of innings to score 17 One Day International centuries. He reached the 17 centuries landmark in 127 innings and he is just behind the likes of Hashim Amla, Virat Kohli, David Warner and Aaron Finch.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first and they made 4 changes in the playing XI, as Suryakumar Yadav, Jayant Yadav, Prasidh Krishna and Deepak Chahar were included in the team and Venkatesh Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were dropped. South Africa also made one change as they opted to go with just one spinner. They dropped Tabraiz Shamsi and added Dwaine Pretorius to the team.

Batting first, South Africa lost the wickets of Janneman Malan and Temba Bavuma in the powerplay itself. Also, Aiden Markram was dismissed by Deepak Chahar in the 13th over and at the time of writing, Quinton de Kock is batting brilliantly alongside Rassie van der Dussen and South Africa are at 197/3.
