A Little Better Management Is Essential - Aakash Chopra On Umran Malik's Exclusion From The West Indies-India T20I Series

Aakash Chopra believes Umran Malik should be managed efficiently by the Indian team’s management and selectors.
Malik made his Team India debut in the recently ended T20I series against Ireland, where he managed to play a couple of games, and another against England. The express pacer, however, has been left out of the 18-man squad for the upcoming T20Is against the West Indies.
On his YouTube channel, Chopra posted a video in which he discussed Malik’s exclusion.
“Umran Malik was not there. He has not had a chance to rest, yet he is not present. It is necessary to inquire as to what you are doing with Umran. Naturally, you should speak with him, and your management style needs to be improved.”
Aakash Chopra stated that Malik is very talented but clarified that the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer is yet not highly formed:
“I had advised the squad to retain him with them despite my personal opinion that they were not quite ready for him to play international cricket. He is still being developed, but he is a fantastic talent and bowls incredibly quickly. You are still standing there.”
‘Malik should not have been dropped’: Aakash Chopra
According to Aakash Chopra, Umran Malik should not have dropped from the Indian team.
“You once made him a member of every squad, but now he isn’t. That is not acceptable; he might be sent to Zimbabwe given that you are traveling to the West Indies. Keep working with him if you think he is ready. Take him forward gradually if you believe he is not ready, but do not remove him from the team,” he described.
Malik is probably not going to be considered by the selectors for the forthcoming T20 World Cup later this year.
