As per skipper Rohit Sharma, a terrible campaign in the previous T20 World Cup has forced the Indian team to make significant changes in its attitude and approach.

Rohit is now preparing to lead the Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, but first, there is the Asia Cup.

Thanks to Rishabh Pant’s quick 44 and a team effort from the bowlers, India defeated West Indies 3-1 on Saturday and now leads the five-match Twenty20 series 3-0. West Indies collapsed for just 132 in the chase after the visitors piled on 191/5 in the first innings, with Arshdeep Singh returning 3/12 and Avesh Khan, Axar Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi each picking up two wickets.

Rohit stated on the Star Sports program “Follow the Blues” that “we have made it very plain after the T20 World Cup in Dubai, where we did not qualify for the finals, that we thought there needed to be a change in our mentality and approach in how we play our game,” India, the current champions, will compete in the Asia Cup.

Rohit discussed the team’s preparation for the impending difficulties in light of the recent change in Team India’s batting strategy to one that is more aggressive.

“Individuals will unquestionably attempt to do that if the captain and coach make it clear where the team is trying to go. We are attempting to give them the freedom and clarity they need for it to occur. We want to grant them as much independence as we can.”
