IND vs WI: Early Wickets From Avesh Khan Made It Easier For India To Defend - Saba Karim

Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim said that the target was in West Indies’ sights at the end of the break but the early breakthroughs provided by Avesh Khan ensured they never get off to a flying start.
India defeated West Indies by 59 runs in the 4th T20I to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the 5-match series. Although he didn’t do well in the first three matches, Avesh was given more chances and the rewards were reaped as a result.

“Avesh bowled really well and picked up early wickets. This was crucial since the kind of power hitters that the West Indies have, once they get set, any total is achievable. But because Avesh picked up early wickets, it became easier for India to defend,” Karim mentioned.
“Rohit made a very good point about persisting with Avesh Khan” – Rajkumar Sharma
Speaking about the performance of the bowling attack on India News Sports, former Delhi coach Rajkumar Sharma said it was the right call to keep Avesh in the playing XI and help him build his confidence in the early stages of his career.
“Rohit Sharma made a very good point about persisting with Avesh Khan because he has performed in the IPL and is well capable of repeating the same at the international level.”

“Arshdeep Singh mixed his length really well, bowled good yorkers, and also managed to swing the ball both ways. Ravi Bishnoi is making a strong case for himself in the Indian team for the Asia Cup with another impressive performance,” Sharma stated.
The 5th and final T20I will take place in Florida on Sunday.
