IND vs WI: He Has Fallen Behind In The Pecking Order: Aakash Chopra On Shreyas Iyer's Poor Performance

Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricketer, believes Shreyas Iyer has not taken advantage of his opportunities because of his recent dismal T20I performances. In the current series against the West Indies, Team India supported him at No. 3, but he has not nearly been able to play any noteworthy innings.
Iyer scored three straight half-centuries in the T20I series against Sri Lanka earlier this year, leading many to believe he had already secured a ticket to Australia.
Here is what sportscaster Aakash Chopra had to say about Iyer’s potential in the Indian T20I team when he spoke to Jatin Sapru on his YouTube channel on Saturday:
“After the Sri Lanka series, I believe that people learned about Shreyas’ vulnerability to short balls and bouncers when the IPL began. He undoubtedly began to think about it excessively after it began to play on his thoughts.”
“He has a good number of opportunities at No. 3, but in all honesty, he has dropped in the standings right now, especially given the chaos at the top.”
‘Ishan was the front runner till the Ireland series’: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra finds it very “unfortunate” that the Men in Blue have continued to place Suryakumar Yadav at the top of the order while ignoring Kishan. In response, he said:
“I believe that Kishan will only play if Rohit Sharma is still injured. However, based on his recent net practice, it appears as if he has. I do not think there will be any modifications because you have not won the series yet.”
“Ishan should be quite upset about this since, up until the Ireland series, he was the front-runner. But then, unexpectedly, you opened with Rishabh Pant in England and Suryakumar Yadav against the West Indies. Therefore, even Ishan would be asking, “What have I done wrong? What is going on? Aakash Chopra said.
With India leading the T20I series 3-1 in their favor, the Men in Blue have reached an interesting point.
