Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel wants Arshdeep Singh to make his ODI debut in the third and final game against West Indies in Trinidad on Wednesday, July 27. The Men in Blue have already won the first two games and bagged the series. They will now be aiming for a clean sweep come Wednesday.
Having won the series, the management has a chance to give chances to some of the fringe players within the team. Arshdeep Singh who is part of the ODI squad is one of them. He made his T20I debut for India against England in the first T20I in Southampton.
Want To See How Arshdee Singh Copes Up With Bowling 10 Overs In The Heat: Parthiv Patel
Singh has made a name for himself as a T20I specialist for India and now Parthiv Patel wants to see if he can bowl 10 overs in the hot and humid conditions of Trinidad.
“I would like to see Arshdeep replace someone in the bowling attack, maybe Thakur or Siraj. I want to see how Arshdeep copes with bowling 10 overs in the heat. We have all seen what he can do in T20 cricket. Having a left-handed bowler gives you a slight advantage” Patel said on Cricbuzz.
The former Indian cricketer also pointed out a few concerns for the Indian batsmen. He lamented that the Indian batters were not able to convert their starts into a three-figure score as Shai Hope did for West Indies. He scored 115 in his 100th ODI for the Windies.
“The Indian batters are getting starts and playing well, but they should try to convert it as Shai Hope did for West Indies,” said Parthiv Patel.
The final ODI will be played on July 27 after which both teams play a five-match T20I series starting from the first T20I in Trinidad from July 29. The last two matches will be played at Lauderhill in Florida.
