IND vs WI: Weather Forecast And Pitch Report of Queen's Park Oval In Trinidad – India Tour of West Indies 2022, 1st ODI

India and West Indies face off against each other in the first ODI in Trinidad on July 22 which kicks off a full-fledged series between the two nations. The two teams play three ODIs and as many as five T20Is. The three ODI games will take place from July 22 to July 27. Then, the five T20I games will be played from July 29 to August 7.
The BCCI and CWI have announced the two separate squads for the ODI and T20I series. Shikhar Dhawan will lead India in the absence of Rohit Sharma who has been rested for the ODIs. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested from the ODIs. Rishabh Pant who is rested for the ODIs will be back for the T20I series.
West Indies, on the other hand, have recalled Jason Holder for the ODI series against India. The former skipper was rested from the Bangladesh T20I and ODI series. Windies won the T20Is but lost the ODI series. They need ab overhaul in their ODI setup with the experienced players not a part of the team.
“As we all know Jason is one of the leading all-round cricketers in the world and we’re happy to have him back in the team. He will be refreshed, re-energized and ready to go and we can expect to see his brilliance on the field as well as meaningful contributions off the field as well,” West Indies chief selector Desmond Haynes said after Holder’s inclusion to the side.
“We had a very challenging three matches against Bangladesh in Guyana so we will be looking to rebound when we face India in the conditions in Trinidad. We have seen some growth among some players, but overall we need to regroup and play better against the Indians,” Haynes further added on his expectations from the India series.

The first IND vs WI ODI starts at 7 pm IST which is 9.30 am local time. Thus it’s a day game in the Caribbean with the temperature expected to be around 33 degrees. The temperature is expected to increase as the day progresses.
So far 69 matches have been played at the Queen’s Park Oval Trinidad. 30 matches have been won by the team batting first and 34 batting second. With the two batting-heavy sides on flat tracks, a high-scoring first ODI is expected.
