Delhi Capitals after having won their last two games came short against Chennai Super Kings by a massive 91 runs.

Rishabh Pant wasn’t a happy man as he said he saw that this kind of game was coming for them as they had played some close games.

Delhi Capitals while bowling first could not contain CSK batters. Devon Conway targeted both Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav as he didn’t let both the spinners settle down.

Rishabh Pant was seen looking for options as he turned to Mitchell Marsh but Marsh too was taken for cleaners. Apart from Khaleel Ahmed, all the other bowlers struggled and that meant CSK posted 208 in their first innings.

DC didn’t get off to a good start as they lost their openers in the powerplay. Pant’s poor run continued as he couldn’t convert yet another start. Mitchell Marsh too got out in trying to clear the rope against Moeen Ali.
DC were going well up until the first strategic time-out in their innings but then two quick wickets of Pant and Marsh completely changed the momentum.

Eventually, Delhi lost by 91 runs as Dwayne Bravo clean bowled Khaleel Ahmed with his loopy slower ball yorker.

CSK vs DC: They Outplayed Us - Rishabh Pant After 91-run Loss To CSK

Rishabh Pant after the game said, “They outplayed us in all the departments. I felt this was coming, the only thing we look forward to is the next three games. If we win them, we should qualify. There are flu and Covid cases, and a lot going on but we are not using that as an excuse. The only thing we can do is be more positive and proactive, we need to be in a good frame of mind and make good decisions.”

Even if DC win their remaining three games it does not guarantee them qualification into playoffs as their net run rate after this loss has taken a beating.
