Ahead of IPL 2022 auction, Chennai Super Kings retained MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the squad. During the auction, they bought players like Deepak Chahar, Ambati Rayudu, Dwayne Bravo, Adam Milne, Dwaine Pretorius, Shivam Dube among others.

KKR had retained Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, and Varun Chakravarthy ahead of the auction. During the auction, the team bought players like Pat Cummins, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Mavi, Nitish Rana, Mohammad Nabi, Sam Billing among others.

Chennai Super Kings will be led by MS Dhoni in IPL 2022. The team has many players who were part of the squad in the last season too like Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, and Ambati Rayudu.
