Former Mumbai Indians and India cricketer, Parthiv Patel has raised questions over Kieron Pollard’s lack of form ahead of MI’s clash against CSK on Thursday, May 12. Chennai needs to win the match to stay alive in the playoff race. Meanwhile, Mumbai who is already out of the season would look to end CSK’s campaign as well.

Kieron Pollard has scored just 144 runs from his 11 games this season at an ordinary strike rate of 107.46 along with a poor batting average of 14.40. With Mumbai out of the season, there are talks of dropping him from the playing XI. Parthiv while speaking to Cricbuzz said that the franchise will be thinking hard over Pollard’s form.

There is a big question mark on Kieron Pollard’s form and the way he is approaching the game. That could be the only point of concern for MI and apart from that, I don’t think they’d look to make any changes” said Parthiv.

Along with Pollard, The franchise retained Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah. All of them have had an indifferent season in IPL 2022.

Rohit Sharma has just scored 200 runs in 11 games at an average of 18.18 and a below-par strike rate of 125.00. Suryakumar Yadav who scored 303 runs in 8 games is ruled out of the rest of the season due to an injury. Jasprit Bumrah who had a tough start to the season has now taken his wickets tally to 10 after bagging a fifer against KKR in their previous match which they lost.

Ishan Kishan’s hefty price tag did not allow him to perform as well as he would have liked. He has scored 321 runs with three fifties to his name so far this season. Tilak Varma with 334 runs from 11 games is the highest scorer for MI so far in the season.
