CSK vs RCB: First Win As Captain, I Would Like To Dedicate It To My Wife - Ravindra Jadeja
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ravindra Jadeja was a relieved man after their first win of the IPL 2022 season on Tuesday. CSK defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 23 runs to get themselves on the board.
The victory was set up by a 165-run association between Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa for the third wicket. They joined hands together at 36/2 and by the time they were done, CSK already had a winning target on their hands.
“First of all this is the first victory as captain and I would like to dedicate it to my wife. This time as a team we came good. The batting unit did a good job. Robbie and Shivam batted brilliantly and the bowlers did their job,” Jadeja said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
It is CSK’s first win in 5 games and their first under Jadeja’s captaincy. When asked whether there has been pressure from inside the dressing room, Jadeja denied anything of that sort.
“Our owners and management don’t put pressure on me. As a captain, I still pick the seniors’ brains. Of course, Mahi Bhai is there. I am still learning and with each game I’ll try to get better,” he said.
Furthermore, CSK is generally consistent throughout a tournament so losing 4 games in a row is quite unusual for them. Recovering from such a bad start will be tough but Jadeja is happy to be on board.
“We have plenty of experience in the dressing room. It comes into play. We don’t panic early and try to keep calm and back ourselves,” he further added.
Final Scores:
CSK – 216/4 in 20 overs
RCB – 193/9 in 20 overs
