DC vs LSG: Watch - Shardul Thakur Takes Up A Catch On His Bowling To Dismiss Deepak Hooda
Shardul Thakur has done decently in IPL 2022 with both and ball. He hasn’t done exceedingly well but has managed to contribute just enough with both bat and ball.
He started well against Lucknow Super Giants as well as he got the wicket of dangerous Quinton de Kock in the powerplay.
He then returned in the 15th over and accounted for the wicket of Deepak Hooda who looked in ominous touch.
Deepak Hooda Made a Crucial 52
After the fall of Quinton de Kock in the powerplay at the score of 42 in the 5th over, Deepak Hooda came into bat at 3. He has been in good touch in this whole IPL after he made his debut for India earlier this year.
Deepak Hooda almost took the pressure off his captain KL Rahul as he scored at a faster rate to continue a good run rate going.
He brought up his fifty in 32 balls and became the first LSG batter to bring up a fifty in the season beating the previous highest by Manish Pandey who made 38 earlier in the season.
Hooda after completing his fifty was looking to go even harder but Shardul Thakur bowled a good yorker which Hooda hit straight back to Thakur. It was hardly hit by Hooda Thakur did well to hold onto the catch. That wicket ended a 95 run partnership between Hooda and KL Rahul. Earlier in the day KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bat first. Avesh Khan was again benched for the game to take care of his workload.
