DC vs PBKS: Kuldeep Yadav's Success Due To Backing From DC Management: Graeme Swann
IPL 2022: Former English off-spinner, Graeme Swann has credited Delhi Capitals management for Kuldeep Yadav’s brilliant run in IPL 2022 so far.
Kuldeep had struggled in the IPL in the last couple of seasons but has now made a great comeback in the league with a change in the franchise.
Kuldeep Has Become Mentally Strong: Graeme Swann
Kuldeep Yadav has had a difficult time not only in the IPL but in international cricket too. He has been in and out of the Indian side for quite a while.
He picked up a 5 wicket haul in the Sydney Test match in India’s tour of Australia down under in 2018 and after that game, the then head coach Ravi Shastri had said that Kuldeep Yadav was their first choice spinner but since then Kuldeep rarely played Test cricket for India. He was also eventually dropped from the limited-overs side.
The drop in performance at the international level cost him his place in the Kolkata Knight Riders XI as well. Varun Chakraborty took his place on the side as he did considerably well for them.
Prior to the start of the new season of IPL, Kuldeep was treated for an injury and through the IPL he has made his comeback into competitive cricket.
“It’s the body language, the confidence, and the aura about him that has improved. He looks confident and is bowling into the wickets,” Swann said on the Cricket Live show on Star Sports.
Kuldeep Yadav is right now amongst the top 5 wicket-takers in the competition.
“When you look at a batter or a bowler who’s on top of his game, inevitably you look at the technical side of it to see what the change is, sometimes it’s the mental side, the game (which) is to get the best out of him. I think that has a more dramatic influence on a bowler like Kuldeep. He’s been a good bowler for many many years, you can’t suddenly become a bad or a good bowler,” added Swann.
Delhi Capitals would hope that Kuldeep continues to be in this form as the side grapples with Covid 19 in their camp.
