Sanju Samson’s knock changed the game in Friday night’s IPL 2022 match between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Delhi Capitals, as per Aakash Chopra.
Following Jos Buttler’s hundred, Samson slammed an unbroken 46 off only 19 deliveries to put the final touches on RR’s innings. The Royals captain’s bold innings led his team set a 223-run total for the Capitals, and they proceeded to win by 15 runs.
Prasidh Krishna, as per Aakash Chopra, was the game-changer for the Rajasthan Royals with the ball. He came to the following :
“Prasidh Krishna, in my opinion, was the best of the bowlers and the man who altered the game. When the opposition team scored 207 runs, he took three wickets in his four overs while surrendering only 22 runs. Well done, Prasidh; his form was inconsistent, but he bowled quite well tonight.”
Sanju Samson who made all the difference: Aakash
In response to Samson’s innings, Aakash Chopra says:
“In 20 overs, Rajasthan Royals scored 222/2. There was only a small difference between running past 200 and going over 220, and it was Sanju Samson who made all the difference.”
“When Sanju baba is in rhythm, he is a force to be reckoned with. Whether that was Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel, Mustafizur, or Shardul Thakur, he smashed them all.”
In the early innings of his partnership with Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal was the dominant partner, as per Chopra.
Aakash Chopra went on to explain: “Buttler am not the only one. He was assisted by Devdutt Padikkal. Devdutt Padikkal just seems to run a little faster at the beginning and then slowed down towards the end. He played brilliantly, the best he’s performed thus far in the season.”
Padikkal struck 54 runs off 35 balls, while Buttler hammered 116 runs off 65 deliveries. Their 155-run partnership for the first wicket set the tone for the Royals’ massive total.
RR are presently in first place in the points standings, having won five of their first seven games.
