DC vs RR: Watch - Drama Pans Out In The Last Over As Rishabh Pant Calls Back His Players From Crease, Crowd Chants "No Ball-No Ball" After Umpire Refuses To Give Above Waist No Ball

A drama panned out in the last over of the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 between Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Friday, April 22.

Delhi Capitals (DC) needed 36 runs in the last over to clinch the victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Obed McCoy was bowling the last over while West Indies powerhouse Rovman Powell was on the strike.

Powell smashed 3 sensational looking sixes on the first three balls and brought the energy back to the Delhi Capitals (DC) camp. However, the third ball, which was smashed for a brilliant six, was above the waist of the batter but the third umpire didn’t notice it.

Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was furious at this move by the third umpire and he was demanding a no-ball for the height. The entire Delhi Capitals camp, which included the likes of Ajit Agarkar, Shane Watson, Pravin Amre and others was not happy with the third umpire’s decision.

Pant asked his players – Rovman Powell and Kuldeep Yadav – to come back from the crease to the dugout as the umpire didn’t declare it as a no-ball. Delhi Capitals coach Pravin Amre ran onto the field to talk to the on-field umpires but they decided not to give a no-ball and the match went on.

Also, Jos Buttler came from the long-on to have a chat with Rishabh Pant on the bench. The crowd was also into the drama and they kept chanting “No Ball-No Ball”.

Meanwhile, Obed McCoy bowled a dot ball on the 4th delivery and Powell scored 2 runs off the next delivery. On the last ball, McCoy was able to dismiss the Delhi Capitals batter and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) were successful in winning the match by 15 runs.

This was Rajasthan Royals’ 5th win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and now they are sitting at the top of the points table.
