Rajasthan Royals (RR) leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal continued piling on the wickets as he picked up his 18th of the IPL 2022 season by dismissing Delhi Capitals (DC) all-rounder, Axar Patel.
RR put up 222 on the board in the first innings courtesy of another Jos Buttler hundred, his third of the season in 7 games. Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal played great cameos and helped RR put up the highest total of the season on the board.
In response, DC kept up the run rate at all points but the wickets fell at regular intervals. David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, and Rishabh Pant all got starts but none of them converted it into anything significant.
Things worsened as Axar was then undone by Chahal with a lovely delivery. The leggie tossed one right up, prompting Axar to attempt a wild slog. He missed completely and the ball crashed into the middle stump.
