GT vs CSK: Ambati Rayudu Becomes the 13th Batter In IPL To Score 4,000 Runs
Veteran IPL batsman Ambati Rayudu became the 10th Indian and 13th batter overall to score 4,000 runs in the Indian Premier League.
Rayudu who has played for Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL needed only 2 runs to reach the milestone. He did that comfortably against Gujarat Titans.

Ambati Rayudu walked into bat at number 4 for CSK against GT in a tricky situation. CSK had lost Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali early in their innings but he along with Ruturaj Gaikwad steadied their innings.
He scored a valuable 46 runs off 31 balls which helped his side score 169 runs.

Ambati Rayudu finds himself in an elite list of players after having reached the landmark of 4,000 runs. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Ajinkya Rahane are the other Indian players to have reached the milestone.
While David Warner, Chris Gayle and Ab de Villiers are the three overseas players to have completed the milestone.

Rayudu has been a vital member of both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings whenever he has played. He was picked by CSK in the 2018 mega auctions. He did well for them as an opener but then was moved into the middle order in subsequent seasons.
He was not retained by CSK ahead of the 2022 mega auctions but was bought back by them for more than 6 crores in the auctions. CSK has not done well in the season so far but they would hope that they can turn things around quickly.
Rayudu now has 4,044 runs from 181 games. He has hit 21 half-centuries and 1 century till now in the IPL.
