David Miller‘s unbeaten 94 helped Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings in match 29 of IPL 2022 in Pune. Miller hit eight fours and six sixes in his innings which powered the Titans to victory. The win now takes them to 10 points as they solidify their position at the top of the points table.
David Miller was helped by Rashid Khan in the middle overs who scored a quickfire 40 off 21 balls and added a 70-run stand for the sixth wicket. Rashid also led the Gujarat Titans in the absence of Hardik Pandya in the game. Khan was making a mockery of the CSK bowling until he was dismissed by Dwayne Bravo. After the game, Miller spoke to Lockie Ferguson about his innings and how he played it. Ferguson was at the other end when Miller hit the winning runs for Gujarat.
In A Chase A Lot Of Things Need To Go Right: David Miller
“I think in a chase like that a lot of things need to go right, which they did along the way. We obviously lost a couple of wickets along the way but guys played their part, you know, all the way through and obviously, standing there with you (Lockie), batting at the end there was really encouraging,” said Miller.
Replying to Lockie’s question on how he paces his innings in the final overs and if he targets his bowlers, the southpaw said ” “I think a bit of both actually. If I am set and I am going, I feel like, I’m looking to try and score off every ball,” the left-hander can been seen explaining to the camera. If it is a gun yorker you cannot do anything really. But definitely go on instinct and you try and sort of get ready for it to be in the area so that you don’t miss out,” Miller continued further.”
David Miller also thanked the speedster for being with him and guiding him in the final overs of the game. The Kiwi pacer had the best seat in the house while he was watching Miller taking the CSK bowlers apart in the final overs.
“You guided me and helped me in certain decisions and it was obviously pleasing to get over the line” said Miller.
