Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha has mentioned that the Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) started off as title contenders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 but now they are facing a lot of problems, which Ojha feels are self-created.
Punjab Kings will lock horns with Gujarat Titans in the 48th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, May 3.
Punjab Kings are currently at the 8th spot in the points table just above Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. PBKS have won only 4 out of 9 games in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.
Speaking on Cricbuzz, Ojha highlighted Punjab Kings’ biggest problem, stating that they refuse to tone down their over-aggressive approach with the bat. He said:
“Punjab’s problem is that they play just one way. Their vehicle is always in fifth gear, they refuse to shift down to fourth gear, even if there is a wall in front or if the vehicle is broken. They need to play as per the game situation. They were strong contenders for the title this year and their problems are self-created.”
Punjab Kings should bring Shahrukh Khan back – Ajay Jadeja
Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has said that the PBKS management should bring back Shahrukh Khan in the playing XI as the players, who have replaced him are not better than him. He said:
“With due respect to the Indian players in the PBKS squad who have replaced Shahrukh Khan, they are not better than him. They should bring Shahrukh back. This team has the players but they are not utilizing their talent properly.”
