GT vs RCB: Watch - Mohammad Shami Cleans Up Virat Kohli With A Yorker

Virat Kohli has been struggling for runs in Tata IPL 2022 so far but he returned to some kind of form as he scored 58 runs off 53 balls against Gujarat Titans here on Saturday at the Brabourne Stadium, before being bowled by Mohammad Shami in the 17th over of the match.

Virat Kohli got a good start as he scored two boundaries in the first over. He also was quite active in running between the wickets as he looked to score quick runs.

Virat Kohli’s Innings Provided Stability To Royal Challengers Bangalore

Kohli might not have played with a very high strike rate but his knock was crucial for his side as RCB once again lost their captain early after Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first.

Rajat Patidar and Kohli steadied the ship for the team in the middle that struggled in the last two games to put a solid performance with the bat. It rarely happens that a youngster takes much of the responsibility when in partnership with Virat but Rajat Patidar took a lot of pressure off Kohli which helped Kohli play himself in.

After reaching his 50, Kohli was looking to be more aggressive but in trying to go hard at Mohammad Shami he got bowled by a yorker. He step aside in his crease to make some room, but Shami was smart enough to bowl a yorker at the off stump. In the end, Kohli could not reach the ball on time and lost his off-stump.

Kohli looked disappointed after his dismissal and so did his wife Anushka Sharma who was cheering for Virat from the stands.

Despite Kohli only scoring 58 runs, these are good signs for RCB as otherwise it’s been a pretty ordinary season for the experienced batter. He has struggled in all sorts of ways as he has gotten two golden ducks in the season.
