Hugh Edmeades To Return Tomorrow To The IPL 2022 Mega Auction

An unfortunate incident happened at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru when Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was going under the hammer as auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed midway during the auction.
After the incident, the franchise managers immediately decided to opt for a lunch break and the auctioneer Hugh Edmeades was provided with the medical help.

Meanwhile, Edmeades was not fit enough to continue on day 1 of the two-day Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction at the Hotel ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru and sports presenter Charu Sharma was handed the auctioneer duties.
The Indian Premier League official Twitter account gave an update on Hugh Edmeades. It was revealed that the veteran auctioneer collapsed due to Postural Hypotension and he is stable after the incident.
“Mr. Hugh Edmeades, the IPL Auctioneer, had an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during the IPL auction this afternoon. The medical team attended to him immediately after the incident & he is stable,” read a statement from IPL.
“Mr. Charu Sharma will continue with the Auction proceedings today,” it added.
Hugh Edmeades All Set To Return On Day 2
Meanwhile, former IPL auctioneer Richard Madley said that he had a chat with his friend Edmeades and he got to know that he will return on day 2 to fulfil his auctioneer duties.

Talking about the auction, Ishan Kishan and Deepak Chahar have been two of the most expensive player so far as they have been bought back by their respective franchises; Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings for INR 15.25 and 14 crores.
