India U19 World Cup 2022 Winning Players Added To IPL 2022 Auction Register

The players of the India U19 team that won that ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 have been added to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction list.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 player auction list was announced on February 1 and in total 590 cricketers were shortlisted from the original list of 1214 players to go under the auction hammer on February 12 and 13 at Hotel ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru.

However, with the BCCI adding India U19 World Cup-winning players to the mega auction list the total number of players in the auction register is now 600, claim Cricbuzz. Also, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed that there have been no eleventh-hour withdrawals.

A lot of World Cup-winning U19 players were ineligible to participate in the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction as the rules state that only those U19 players who have played at least one first-class match or List A match can enrol in the auction.

Also, if the U19 players don’t have experience of playing List A of first-class matches then they should have turned 19 before the Indian Premier League auction.

India U19 Players Added To The Indian Premier League Auction Register, Confirms Brijesh Patel

Speaking to Cricbuzz, IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel on Friday, February 11, said that the news of U19 boys joining the auction is true.

“Yes, it is true that we have added the Under 19 players to the register,” Patel said.

The franchise officials, at the ritual auction-eve meeting, were informed that there will be 10 new players joining the auction but they were not told the names of the players.

Notably, Shaik Rasheed, Dinesh Bana, Ravi Kumar, Nishant Sindhu, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Manav Parakh, Garv Sangwan, Siddharth Yadav, Aaradhya Yadav should be eligible to go under the hammer. However, the BCCI has not made an official announcement regarding the addition of players.
