IPL 2022: 3 Most Memorable Encounters Of The Season For Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
1. RCB vs SRH (April 23, Mumbai)
Sunrisers Hyderabad bundled RCB out for their second-lowest total in the IPL history – 68. SRH left-arm pacers Marco Jansen and T Natarajan ran through RCB’s heart of the batting order.
Both the pacers used the extra bounce to their advantage, especially Jansen, who cleaned up RCB captain Faf du Plessis, got Virat Kohli for a golden duck and induced Anuj Rawat’s outside edge with an outswinger. Jansen picked all three wickets in a single over to put RCB on a backfoot.
Natarajan dismissed Glenn Maxwell before the Australian could pose any threat against them. Natarajan also ensured there was no display of grit from RCB’s lower-order as he cleaned up Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga.
SRH raced to the paltry target in just eight overs on the back of opener Abhishek Sharma’s 47 in 28 balls. The Orange Army thumped du Plessis & co by nine wickets to record their fifth straight win after losing the first two games.
2. MI vs SRH (May 17, Mumbai)
Rahul Tripathi scored 76 off 44 balls to cruise SRH’s score at 193/6 in the first innings.
Umran Malik bowled an absolute class spell to turn the tables in SRH’s corner as MI cruising with the 95-run opening stand between Rohit (48) and Ishan (43).
Malik sizzled with his pace as he accounted for the wickets of Ishan Kishan, Daniel Sams, and Tilak Varma to finish with 3/23 from three overs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a maiden-wicket over in the penultimate over of the chase as SRH eked out MI by three runs.
3. SRH vs KKR (April 15, Mumbai)
Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram hit stupendous half-centuries after SRH bowlers put decent efforts to register their third successive win.
Natarajan and Umran Malik were on the song as they caused the damage to confine KKR’s score at 175/8 in the first innings.
Markram and Tripathi put 94 runs together for the third-wicket stand to bail SRH out after the early loss of the openers.
Tripathi was the aggressor with his enterprising 71 while Markram remained unbeaten on 68. Markram took over the responsibility when Tripathi departed and attacked the KKR bowlers. Nicholas Pooran could add five runs in the inseparable stand with the South African.
SRH completed a comprehensive seven-wicket win with 13 balls to spare in the chase.
