Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been the second-most successful IPL franchise in the history of the league. They have won four titles with the latest one coming in IPL 2021 when they beat KKR in the final. Ahead of IPL 2022, they have assembled an all-round squad in the mega auction.
CSK are placed in group B alongside RCB, SRH, PBKS and Gujarat Titans. They kick off their IPL 2022 campaign by playing their first game against KKR in a rematch of the IPL 2021 final. They beat KKR in the final last year and would like to replicate their performance. Ahead of their season opener against KKR, here is a look at 3 CSK bowlers who can win the Purple Cap in IPL 2022.

Dwayne Bravo
Bravo has previously won the Purple Cap in 2013 and 2015. He also has the joint record of taking the most wickets in a season (32 in 2015). With Deepak Chahar unavailable for the majority of the season, Bravo will have the responsibility of bowling the tough overs at the death. Over the years, he has been very cleverly managed by MS Dhoni and he will continue to be his mean weapon with the ball.

Chris Jordan
With Deepak Chahar missing, the CSK bowling attack looks a bit weak. Shardul Thakur and Josh Hazlewood are not a part of the squad anymore which makes the bowling attack look even more thinner. The franchise has managed to rope in Chris Jordan at the mega auction. Jordan along with Bravo should be the two specialist overseas bowlers CSK should field in their playing XI. Jordan gas played for RCB and CSK in the past with not much success for both teams.
Ravindra Jadeja
Jadeja was CSK’s first retention ahead of the mega auction. It is expected that he might lead the side halfway through the season as well. The all-rounder has been playing for the franchise since 2012 and has been synonymous with the team’s success. Along with Dwayne Bravo, Jadeja is the other key bowler for CSK. 2014 was his most successful season with the ball for CSK when he picked 19 wickets. In the last two seasons, MS Dhoni has not used his much as a bowler.
