Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) face off another newcomer Gujarat Titans in their opening game of IPL 2022. In their first match on March 28 at the Wankhede stadium. KL Rahul will lead Lucknow while Hardik Pandya will lead the Titans. The Supergiants added KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi as their draft picks ahead of IPL 2022. In the mega auction, they added 18 players. 

The IPL 2022 will be a 10-team affair with Gujarat and Lucknow being the two new franchises. BCCI finalised four venues in Maharashtra to host 74 games between March 26 to May 29. Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune will play hosts to 15 games each.

Lucknow have added some really good players in their squad and with Gautam Gambhir and Andy Flower part of the coaching staff, have good brains as well to fine-tune the team combinations. In this article, we take a look at five LSG players who can win the Man of The Tournament Award in IPL 2022.

KL Rahul is one of the top-scorers in the IPL since 2018. He has scored over 2000 runs for Punjab Kings during his stay with the franchise and comes into IPL 2022 as one of the established cricketers for India across formats. He will lead the franchise and will certainly be one of the contenders for the Orange Cap as well as the Man of The Tournament award. Lucknow certainly have the squad to go the distance.

Quinton De Kock

LSG won the bidding war with Mumbai Indians to rope in the Protean wicketkeeper. He will open the batting alongside KL Rahul. He has been one of the most consistent performers in the IPL and someone who can be a part of the Lucknow think tank as well. If he performs to his full potential he can be a contender for the Player of the Tournament.

Ravi Bishnoi

Bishnoi will be the lead spinner in the side along with K Gowtham and Shabaz Nadeem. Courtesy of his exploits with Punjab Kings in IPL 2020 and 2021, he made his international debut and was one of LSG’s draft picks. So far in 23 IPL games, he has picked 24 wickets and is certainly among the contenders for the Player of The Tournament award. 

Avesh Khan

Like Bishnoi, Avesh Khan also was one of the finds in the IPL over the last two years, He bagged 24 wickets in IPL 2021 which paved his path for his international debut. He is certainly one of the Indian pacers to watch out for in the future who has a lot of pedigree. Consistent chances can certainly help him deliver for the franchise.

Marcus Stoinis

The big-hitting all-rounder was one of the three draft picks for LSG. His contribution for Delhi Capitals played a huge role in Lucknow picking him as a draft. He should play all the 14 games for the side barring any injury concerns, Also he will get enough chances to prove his mettle with bat and ball and make a case to win the Player of the Tournament award.
