Mayank Agarwal has been a key member of Punjab Kings since 2018, and he will now lead the franchise after being named captain last month. Mayank, a member of the Indian Test team, was one of two players kept by Punjab, along with teenage pacer Arshdeep Singh.
Shikhar Dhawan is an established performer in the prestigious T20 league that has a great deal of experience. The newest addition is set to open alongside Mayank, establishing one of the most dangerous combinations in the IPL this season.
Mayank remained tight-lipped about the opening combination, but he was enthusiastic in his praises for Dhawan, applauding his ability and unrivaled intensity.
“I didn’t want to discuss the batting lineup at this moment, well I can confirm that we are delighted to be Shikhar on the team. He’s a complete showman, a fantastic entertainer, and a huge performer, and a lot of the people will thrive off of his enthusiasm. He’s also in a good state of mind “As per Agarwal.
Mayank Agarwal explains his role as a captain:
The newly selected skipper also addressed the extra responsibility, saying that he is concentrating on continuing to bat in the same manner as before without introducing any extra features. Mayank scored 400 or more runs in each of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and he is likely to play a vital part in Punjab’s bid for the IPL title.
“I’m just a hitter when I’m batting. The team has a lot of leadership and experience, which makes things easier for me. I want to improve as a batter and continue to do what I’ve been doing. (On the leadership front,) we’ve devised a strategy for moving the squad ahead “he stated
“We would like to think we have such a title-winning team, but now it’s up to us as players putting our skills to work under strain to see what we can come up with,” Mayank added.
On March 27, Punjab Kings will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
