IPL 2022: Aakash Chopra Feels Devdutt Padikkal Will Finish As Top Run-Scorer For Rajasthan Royals

Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra feels that Devdutt Padikkal will be the top run-getter for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022. After playing his first two seasons for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Padikkal is set to play for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022.
Devdutt Padikkal was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 7.75 crores during IPL 2022 auction. Padikkal has been an impressive batsman in the last two seasons. In his debut season IPL 2020, Padikkal emerged as the top run-getter for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Last season, he slammed a century in one game.

Devdutt Padikkal Will Be The Highest Run-Scorer For RR This Season: Aakash Chopra
While speaking on his Youtube channel, former India opener Aakash Chopra said that he feels Padikkal will end as the top run-getter for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022. Aakash Chopra also said that Rajasthan Royals have everything to qualify for playoffs in the tournament.
“Devdutt Padikkal will be the highest run-scorer for RR this season. I see him opening alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. Although this is an Achilles heel as Buttler will bat down the order but I still feel Padikkal will be the highest run-scorer. It is very difficult this time for teams to make it to the top four, but RR have everything that it takes to make it there,” Aakash Chopra said.

Sanju Samson is going to lead Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022. Some crucial players part of the RR squad are Jos Buttler, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, Shimron Hetmyer, Prasidh Krishna, Rassie Van Der Dussen, and Daryl Mitchell.
Rajasthan Royals will begin their journey in IPL 2022 with the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The clash takes place on March 29 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Last season, Rajasthan Royals finished on the 7th spot in the points table.
IPL 2022 will commence on March 26. In the opening match, Chennai Super Kings will battle against Kolkata Knight Riders. The match will take place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
