IPL 2022: Aakash Chopra Predicts "Unique Bowler" Who Can Get Sold Between 3-5 Crores In Mega Auction

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra is busy previewing the IPL 2022 mega auction. He has been talking about the various Indian and overseas players across various categories who can fetch big bucks in the mega auction. In his latest Youtube video, he has spoken about Kartik Tyagi, India’s former U-19 pace bowler.

Karthik Tyagi managed to grab the eyeballs in IPL 2020 auction. He was roped in by Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020 and played two seasons for the franchise picking up 13 wickets in 14 games. Chopra predicted that the young pacer might get sold for a price between 3-5 crores.

“Kartik Tyagi – he missed the last year slightly due to injury but he was excellent the year prior to that. If I have money in my purse, Kartik Tyagi will be one of my important picks, I won’t mind spending 3-5 crores on him,” said the former India player.

Aakash Chopra further said that the quality of Indian pacers on the show is very much higher than the overseas pace contingent and took Tyagi as an example of the same.

“A tall fast bowler, we have discussed earlier as well that in the overseas pacers as well, there is a lot of quantity but not quality. This guy is local, it means go vocal for local,” he further explained.

Chopra further spoke about his credentials as a bowler. He said that Kartik Tyagi can bowl at over 140 kph consistently and has a wide range of change-ups in his bowling arsenal as well.

“Indian fast bowler who can bowl at 140 kph, bowl with the new and the old ball, can bowl the yorkers, bouncers, slower ones. I mean what else do you need. Kartik Tyagi is that unique bowler who can bowl at all stages. He reminds me a little bit about Prasidh Krishna,” said Chopra.

With various franchises on the lookout for good quality Indian pacers, Tyagi can be a good long-time investment for teams with this mega auction being the last as per reports.
