One of the most successful teams in IPL, Chennai Super Kings yet again proved all its critics wrong after winning the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. CSK dished out sensational performances in both India as well as UAE leg of the tournament. They beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs to lift their fourth title in the history of the competition.
Unfortunately, the fans wouldn’t be able to see similar faces donning the yellow jersey in the next edition. Ahead of the mega auction, all the IPL franchises are allowed to retain only four players. On that note, we take a look at three players that CSK might target in the mega auctions.
IPL 2022 Auction: 3 Players CSK Can Target
It’s highly unlikely that CSK will retain the players like Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu. They would be looking to add a solid T20 batsman in the middle-order, who can serve them for a longer period of time. And there couldn’t be a better choice than Surkyakumar Yadav.
The 31-year old cricketer is now an integral part of the Indian Cricket Team and might not be retained by Mumbai Indians. Chennai Super Kings is likely to have a go at him in the auctions.
