The much-awaited IPL 2022 Mega Auction is scheduled to be held in the month of February this year. For those of you who don’t know, each franchise was allowed to retain as many as four players for the next edition of the tournament. The rest of the players will go back to the auction pool. The 8 existing teams have already announced the list of their retained players.

Notably, two new teams have been added for the upcoming edition as well, which makes it a 10-team affair. All the teams will be building their squads from the scratch. Amidst all the veteran Indians as well as overseas players, the franchises would also be looking to target young Indian players as well.

Talented youngsters are vital to any team in the franchise T20 leagues. Let’s take a look at 5 young Indian players who can fetch a Million Dollar Deal at the auctions.

IPL 2022 Auction: 5 Young Indian Players Who Can Fetch a Million Dollar Deal

  1. Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi is, unarguably, one of the rising stars in Indian Cricket. Turning up for Punjab Kings, he has bowled beautifully for consecutive seasons in 2020 and 2021. Ravi Bishnoi’s effective googly and nagging accuracy makes him a great asset in T20 cricket.

He has played 23 matches across two seasons in his IPL career so far, picking 24 wickets at an average of 24.91. His economy of 6.95 tells you how difficult it is to score runs against him.

Ahead of the upcoming edition of the tournament, Ravi Bishnoi will be a player to watch out for. Unfortunately, Punjab Kings didn’t retain him for the next edition and thus he will find himself at the auction pool. Nevertheless, he is likely to fetch a million-dollar Deal at the auctions.

  1. Abdul Samad

The 20-year-old Abdul Samad has played two seasons for SRH in IPL. In his first IPL season, he amassed 111 runs in 12 matches at an impressive strike rate of 170.76. The Indian youngster impressed one and all with his brutal power-hitting display.

Batting at lower down the order, he played crucial cameos for the team. Given there is a scarcity of Indian youngsters who bat at lower down the order and finish the game well for their team with his power-hitting, Abdul Samad is someone who could do that job on a regular basis and thus will be highly in demand at the mega auctions. He should fetch a million-dollar deal at the auctions.

  1. Ishan Kishan

Mumbai Indians surprised one and all after they had released a player like Ishan Kishan for the next edition of IPL. They had to make the tough decision to choose Suryakumar Yadav ahead of Ishan Kishan, which means that the latter will find himself at the auction pool.

Ishan Kishan is one of the most destructive batsmen in Indian Cricket right now. His ability to get the team off to a rollicking start is, perhaps, unmatched. Time and again, he has shown how big a match-winner he is.

The last time he batted in IPL, the southpaw wreaked havoc with the bat. He scored 84 runs in just 32 deliveries, a knock which was laced with 11 fours and 4 sixes. There is no denying that he will get a million-dollar deal at the auctions.

  1. Shubman Gill

Kolkata Knight Riders, unfortunately, had to release Shubman Gill for the next edition of the tournament. They chose the likes of Varun Chakravarthy and Venkatesh Iyer ahead of Shubman Gill.

The 22-year-old has been a prolific run-scorer for KKR in IPL. He has provided a plethora of impressive starts for the team over the years. Gill has scored more than 400 runs in the last two consecutive editions.

Chances are high that KKR might bid him heavily to buy him back at the auctions. The franchise though is likely to engage in a bidding war with several other franchises.

  1. Rahul Chahar

Mumbai Indians were one team that had a lot of world-class players in IPL. They wouldn’t be too happy with the mega-auctions taking place as they had to release some of the finest T20 players in the world right now.

Their premier spinner, Rahul Chahar, too, isn’t likely to play for MI from the next edition of the tournament. A lot of franchises would be interested in buying his services and one shouldn’t get surprised if he fetches a million-dollar contract at the auctions.
