Veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle picked two players who could earn a massive deal in the upcoming IPL 2022 auction.

The IPL 2022 mega auction is just a couple of weeks away to see one of the greatest events in the history of IPL.

A total of 1214 players have signed up their names for the IPL 2022 auction which includes 270 capped players, 312 uncapped players and 41 players from the associate teams.

The IPL 2022 auction won’t have the regular eight teams featuring but this time it will be 10 after the BCCI added two new teams (Lucknow and Ahmedabad) for the next edition.

The gossip around every corner of the country would be about the players who could fetch big money in the auction by putting the franchises in a bidding battle.

Ishan Kishan ticks three boxes: Harsha Bhogle

Bhogle, who has been entertaining cricket fans around the globe with his in-depth knowledge about the game, mentioned Ishan Kishan as his first choice.

Ishan has been with MI since 2018 and has scored 1133 runs from 45 IPL games, his highest score being 99 against RCB in IPL 2020.

The Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter is famous for his aggressive batting style like we saw in the final league stage encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021, he blazed 84 off 32 balls, smashing 11 fours and four sixes.

Ishan Kishan, because he ticks off an Indian player, left-hander, wicketkeeper… left-hand top-order wicketkeeper, that’s three boxes you’re looking for,” Bhogle said on Cricbuzz.

Shahrukh Khan is a big built, a bit like Yusuf Pathan: Harsha Bhogle

Bhogle went with Tamil Nadu all-rounder Shahrukh Khan as the player reminded him about the energy of former Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan.

The 26-year-old has the ability to finish the game as he did for his state team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final.

Tamil Nadu required 16 runs from the final over as Shahrukh finished the chase with a last-ball six. Shahrukh made 47 runs against CSK as Punjab set 107 in the first innings, his efforts helped the team from escaping a shameful low score.

“I’m expecting him to do really well this year because there is a spark about him, and he’s got a huge presence at the crease. He’s big built, a bit like Yusuf Pathan. You know, Yusuf Pathan in his prime when he was batting, he had that presence about him at the crease, and I find a little bit of that in Shahrukh Khan,” Bhogle mentioned.

The IPL 2022 auction will take place on February 12 & 13 in Bengaluru as 49 players have set their base price under the category of INR 2 crore.
