The lunch break was taken as well with the shocked franchise owners and team members looking on. A battle was going on for Sri Lankan leg-spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga when the incident took place.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) were involved in a heated bidding war for Hasaranga. Neither of them backed down with the price reaching INR 10 crores.

While PBKS co-owner, Ness Wadia, was hesitant, he continued to raise the paddle, and the bids carried on. RCB was firm on bringing back Hasaranga, who barely played any games in the IPL 2021 season as he had to return to national duty.
