Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya said that Hardik Pandya can pick him in the IPL 2022 auction. Krunal made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2016, he blasted a 37-ball 86 against Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in his first season.

Krunal played 84 IPL matches for Mumbai Indians in five seasons (2016-2021) before he was released by the franchise along with his brother. Mumbai Indians retained Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav ahead of IPL 2022 auction.

The all-rounder Krunal has registered himself for the IPL 2022 auction with the base price of INR 2 crore and the Baroda player is ready for his new team.

Krunal’s younger brother Hardik is appointed as the captain of the Ahmedabad franchise in IPL 2022. When Krunal was asked whether he would join Hardik in the Ahmedabad team this year, the Baroda player replied that his brother can pick him in the auction.

I don’t know if he (Hardik Pandya) wants me, he can pick me from the auction or I am happy to go anywhere where I can,” Krunal told ESPNCricinfo.

Talking about Hardik’s leadership skills, the elder Pandya brother said that his brother has everything to be a leader and is looking forward to seeing him lead in IPL.

He has all the qualities, he has been a leader in self-playing for Mumbai (Indians) and Indian cricket (team) as well. I am so happy that he has got this opportunity because people will see his real leadership qualities going forward,” he said.

“He has all the things to be that leader because he is that character who likes to lead the side whether he is captain or not. So I think he will do a terrific job and I am excited about it,” he added.

Krunal is part of state team Baroda’s Ranji Trophy squad while Hardik has made himself unavailable for selection as he aims to make his come back in India’s white-ball set-up.
