IPL 2022: Cannot Wait For The Season To Start, To Meet New People - Quinton de Kock After Joining Lucknow Super Giants
South African wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock was bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 6.75 crore, which is quite the steal considering the value that the 29-year-old brings to the table.
Chennai and Lucknow were involved in the bidding war on Day 1 of the auction before the former gave up once the price went past INR 5 crores. Mumbai Indians tried to get the price up before eventually giving up, leaving de Kock to LSG for an excellent price.
The South African is one of the best wicket-keeper batters in white-ball cricket, and LSG will be extremely happy that he was bought for that price. Speaking about joining the franchise, de Kock expressed excitement.
“Just want to say I’m very excited to join my new team, Lucknow Super Giants. Cannot wait for the season to start – to meet everyone, to meet new people, and to have new beginnings. And yeah super excited – until then, can’t wait. Cheers!” de Kock said in the video posted by Lucknow Super Giants.

Another big buy for LSG was West Indian all-rounder, Jason Holder, for whom they had to shell out INR 8.75 crores. Nevertheless, he is one of the best in the business and the new franchise will be glad to have the big Windies player on their team.
