Chennai Super Kings (CSK) most expensive buy at the IPL 2022 mega auction, Deepak Chahar, has been ruled out of the season without having played in a single game all tournament.

He had sustained a hamstring injury while playing against West Indies in February. Since then, he has not been part of the Indian team and was ruled out of the initial part of IPL 2022.

Unfortunately, he has now suffered a back injury which will keep him out of the competition. He was rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) when he suffered the said back injury.

CSK has not announced his replacement but they will certainly miss his services. The Chennai team has been poor in the IPL 2022 season so far, only winning 1 out of 5 games. Their bowling attack has let them down on multiple occasions and they will have to buckle up to have a shot at the playoff spots.

Earlier, the Times of India also reported that Chahar may well be out for 4 months due to the injury. This means he may not take part in the T20 World Cup that will take place in Australia later this year.
