IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals (DC) Predicted Playing XI For Their First Match Of The Season

Delhi Capitals bought a total of 20 players during IPL auction 2022. Shardul Thakur at Rs. 10.75 crores was the team’s costliest pick during the auction. Some other costly players that Delhi Capitals bought during the auction were David Warner (6.25 crores), Mitchell Marsh (6.50 crores), Khaleel Ahmed (5.25 crores), and Chetan Sakariya (4.2 crores).

Delhi Capitals earlier retained Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, and Anrich Nortje in their squad for IPL 2022. Now, they have a total of 24 players in their squad. IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals (DC) Predicted Playing XI For Their First Match Of The Season

David Warner

Delhi Capitals bought David Warner for Rs.. 6.25 crores and he will be the best option for an opener for the team. The left-handed batsman did not have a good show in IPL 2021 but he gave an astonishing batting performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2021, winning the player of the series award. Warner might open the innings for the team in the first match of IPL 2022.

Prithvi Shaw

Delhi Capitals retained Prithvi Shaw for Rs. 7.5 crores for IPL 2022. Like the last season, he will continue to open the batting for the team. In IPL 2021, the right-handed batsman smacked 479 runs in 15 matches at an average of 31.93 and 4 half-centuries.

Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh might be bat at the one-down position for Delhi Capitals in the first match of IPL 2022. Marsh was picked by the team for a price of Rs. 6.5 crores. He gave a fabulous batting performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2021, which also accelerated his demand in IPL auction 2022. Marsh is also a medium pace bowler.

Rishabh Pant (C and WK)

Rishabh Pant will be the skipper of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022 and will lead the team in the opening game. The left-handed batsman mustered 419 in 16 games in IPL 2021. Along with 3 fifties. He will also keep the stumps for the team. Pant is a regular player for India in the national team and hence the best man for the leadership job.

Lalit Yadav

Lalit Yadav will be an all-rounder for the team in the opening game. Last season, Yadav scored 68 runs in 7 games at an average of 34.0. He also picked 4 wickets for the team. Hence, Yadav is a good choice for an extra bowler for the team. He might get more opportunities in IPL 2022.

Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell might be another all-rounder that Delhi Capitals will go ahead with during the opening encounter. The IPL 2020 runners-up picked the West Indies all-rounder for Rs. 2.8 crores during IPL auction 2022. Powell has not played any IPL tournament so far and will make a debut in the 2022 season.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel will be the spin all-rounder that the team can pick in the first clash of IPL 2022. The left-arm spinner was retained at a price of Rs. 9 crores. Last year, he grabbed 15 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 20.40. He also bowled at a superb economy of just 6.65.

Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur might be one of the pacers for the team. Delhi Capitals picked the right-arm pacer for Rs. 10.75 crores, making him the costliest deal of the team. Thakur played a leading role in CSK’s success in IPL 2021, picking 21 wickets in the season. Moreover, Thakur is also a good tailender batsman and will be an advantage in the batting department as well.

Anrich Nortje

Anrich Nortje will be another pacer that the team can pick in the opening game. The team retained Nortje in the squad for Rs. 6.50 crores. Last year, the South African pacer gave an impeccable bowling performance with 12 wickets in just 8 games at an average of 15.58.
