Warner was a part of Delhi Capitals from 2009 to 2013. In 55 games for the side, he scored 1435 runs with two hundreds and 10 fifties before making a move to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014. Delhi managed to rope him in again for just 6.25 crores which in the end turned out to be a budget buy for the franchise.

Given Warner’s record in the IPL, he is a sure starter in the playing XI. He will most probably open the batting with Prithvi Shaw. Both are naturally attacking players and thus can be a headache for the opposition bowling line-up.

Delhi chose Nortje over Kagiso Rabada when it came down to choosing one of the two. Though Rabada had a better record for Delhi, the management chose to with Nortje keeping the future in mind. He is the second player who is also sure to be in the starting XI. He will add the pace factor to the Delhi bowling attack. The franchise needs to manage Nortje well now that they have retained and have seen him as a long-term prospect. How he deals with his injury issues during the season will be an interesting observation.

He was hitting sixes for fun and across the second and the third T20Is made fun of the Indian bowling attack till he played. His big-hitting ability even impressed Rishabh Pant who watched him from close quarters behind the stumps. He was also heard saying that he is happy that Powell is a part of the Delhi Capitals for the upcoming IPL season.

The Fizz can be the fourth and final overseas player in the Delhi Capitals lineup. He has shown impressive skills in the IPL. The franchise roped him in for 2 crores. Given his experience in international cricket, the franchise should give him a go-ahead of the rest of the overseas players in the squad. Lungi Ngidi and Mitchell Marsh are other options as well that the franchise has at their disposal. However, Fizz being a left-arm pacer can give him the edge over the others.
