IPL 2022: Great Opportunity For Suryakumar Yadav To Enhance His Chances For T20 World Cup- Sunil Gavaskar
Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar believes that Mumbai Indians batter, Suryakumar Yadav, has the perfect platform to further establish himself in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Suryakumar will miss the first game for MI but will be available for the rest of the IPL 2022 season. Ahead of the important next two months, Gavaskar thinks that Suryakumar can make use of the league and cement his place in the Indian team.
“It has been a wonderful last couple of seasons for Suryakumar Yadav and IPL 2022 is a great opportunity for him to cement his place in the Indian team by performing well again this season.”
“The Indian team for the T20 World Cup will to a great extent be decided on IPL performances. So, Yadav has got this great opportunity to enhance his chances to be picked in the squad that flies to Australia,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.

Gavaskar also reckoned that Australian batter and Delhi Capitals opener, David Warner, may have had a rough season last time around but he doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody.
“At this stage in Warner’s career, he does not have to prove anything to anybody except himself. Last year was just one of those bad patches that every cricketer goes through, and he will contribute heavily with the bat for Delhi Capitals this time around,” Gavaskar added.
Warner was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad last season but was bought by Delhi for INR 6 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
