IPL 2022: Happens To Every Single Player In The World, Stick To The Basics - David Warner's Advice To Struggling Virat Kohli
Delhi Capitals (DC) opener David Warner had his own point of view with regards to Virat Kohli’s slump in form, stating that it happens to everyone and all he has to do is hang in there and do the basics right.
Kohli’s terrible form in the IPL 2022 season has everybody concerned, including the Indian cricket team fans. With a T20 World Cup coming up this year in Australia, they need the 33-year-old to be in top-notch form.
Although Kohli did score a 53-ball 58 in RCB’s previous match against Gujarat Titans, he still looked scratchy and couldn’t accelerate after laying down a platform.
“Have a couple more Kids and Enjoy Love! The form is temporary and the class is permanent so you don’t lose that. It happens to every single player in the world.”
“It doesn’t matter how good a player you are, you’re always going to have these ebbs and flows. Sometimes the ebb is a long way before you get back up there. Stick to the basics,” Warner told in a meet and greet session with Sushant Mehta, Sports Yaari founder.

Speaking on the clustered points table, Warner said it’s quite obvious that DC needs to buckle up and win its remaining games to have a shot at making it to the playoff stages. They are in 7th place with 4 wins in 9 matches.
“Moving forward from where we are, we’ve obviously got to win every game to make it to the finals. There’s strong competition, two teams we have got to come up against – Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are pretty much similar points to us.”
“We could get that upper hand if we beat Sunrisers. We then go into the top four, but obviously, we need RCB [Royal Challengers Bangalore, who face Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday night] to start losing as well. It’s quite a congested table, but exciting for the rest of the tournament,” Warner was quoted as saying.
