IPL 2022: I Believe He Should Be Given Freedom - Harbhajan Singh Says Of Mayank Agarwal's Poor Performance In Edition 15

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh believes Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Mayank Agarwal was limited in his position of leadership during the recently completed Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season.
After becoming made skipper ahead of the season, the 31-year-old can only really take his team to sixth place in the standings.
Despite a star-studded lineup, Agarwal’s PBKS finished sixth for the fourth consecutive season.
Harbhajan Singh stated in an interview with Sportskeeda that Agarwal was continuously under the spotlight:
“I still can’t believe what was happening this season to Mayank Agarwal. He is a good player, but he may be still under duress as a skipper. He dropped from No. 4 to No. 4. I believe he should be set free. Throughout the, he remained under the radar.”
Agarwal endured a lean campaign with the bat for PBKS in the recently concluded season. His combination at the top with Shikhar Dhawan boded a lot of promise, but it did not come off. The right-handed batter could only muster 198 runs at an average of 16.33.
Mayank Agarwal’s IPL 2022 performance was below par:
The Punjab Kings had one of the best teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Shahrukh Khan, and Kagiso Rabada have all been outstanding in the game’s shortest format, but their existence hasn’t changed the franchise’s fate.
Punjab won just seven games in the 15th season of the tournament, and one of the causes of their disappointments has been captain Mayank Agarwal’s performance.
In the current season of the cash-rich league, he had the lowest average among skippers. Mayank scored 196 runs in 12 innings, averaging 16.33.
